Based at the National Waterways Museum Stoke Bruerne, the Friends were formed in 2005 and have already become heavily involved in museum events and activities.

As a member of the Friends of the Canal Museum you can get involved in a range of different activities at Stoke Bruerne and around the country including:
• Acting as a steward at special museum events
• Restoring exhibits under the supervision of museum staff
• Demonstrating waterways-related crafts such as traditional painting or lacework
• Attending local shows to publicise the museum and the Friends
• Carrying out research, collecting knowledge and photographs
