Friends of the National Waterways Museum Gloucester Docks
The Friends help the museum at Gloucester Docks through volunteer work and fundraising events. All members are entitled to free admission to the National Waterways Museum and receive a quarterly newsletter. Lectures and social events are held throughout the year, providing an opportunity to meet fellow Friends.
Through the FNWM Gloucester Docks you can get involved with:
• Acting as a steward at special museum events
• Restoring exhibits under the supervision of museum staff
• Operating working exhibits such as the steam dredger or the motor tug
• Demonstrating waterways-related crafts such as traditional painting or lacework
• Attending local shows to publicise the museum and the Friends
• Carrying out research, collecting knowledge and photographs
The annual subscription to the FNWM Gloucester Docks is £9 for an individual or £15 for a family.
