National Waterways Museum gives children a superb introduction to the world of canals and waterways. Our rich collections, fleets of narrowboats and other vessels, and our fabulous historic site really capture children's imaginations.
And the museum is a great family day out too - grandparents and grandchildren! There's loads of space for kids to run around and explore as well as quiet corners for picnics or just for watching the world go by. There are games to play and displays packed with fascinating information to browse. All ages will find things of interest and enjoyment to see and do.
We also have a wet weather picnic area, high chairs in the café and good baby changing facilities. The Café is a great place for family and friends to come together at the end of the day and swop stories about their day out at the museum.
