Not quite what you would expect to see on a canal, FCB 18 is a concrete barge.

FCB stands for Ferro Concrete Barge. She was built during the Second World War when traditional materials such as wood and iron were in short supply.

FCB 18 is on display at Ellesmere Port. A concrete narrowboat can also be seen at Gloucester Docks.
